Abatec is assisting their client, a leading civil engineering and water contractor with the recruitment of a permanent Quality Manager to work out of their Welsh office of South West office. The successful candidate will take ownership of the organisation’s quality function, ensuring systems, processes, and standards are effectively implemented and consistently applied across the business. You will focus on maintaining compliance with regulatory and industry requirements, while identifying opportunities to improve performance and efficiency. This includes analysing quality data, addressing non-conformances, and driving practical improvements that add measurable value. Working closely with teams across the business, you will promote best practice, ensure clear communication of quality expectations, and support the delivery of reliable, high-standard outcomes.
As Quality Manager you will:
- Evaluate and enhance the existing Quality Management System (QMS) in line with industry best practice
- Lead the development and rollout of quality processes across the business
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and applicable regulatory requirements
- Plan, conduct, and manage internal audits, while supporting external audit activities
- Work collaboratively with procurement and supply chain teams to uphold quality standards
- Manage non-conformance processes, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Oversee document control procedures and ensure accuracy of quality documentation
- Deliver training and guidance to teams on quality expectations and procedures
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure consistent quality outcomes
Our client requires a Quality Manager with:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quality Management role in civil engineering or a similar field
- Proven track record of developing and managing Quality Management Systems
- Strong working knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001:2015 desirable)
- Internal Auditor qualification (advantageous)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical mindset with effective problem-solving abilities
Salary/Benefits:
- £65,000 - £75,000 p/a
