Abatec is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Finance Clerk to join our well-known client in Avonmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to join the finance team and play a key role in supporting strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts, monitoring performance and providing detailed variance analysis.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational and investment requirements.
- Conduct financial planning and analysis, including profitability reviews, cost control initiatives and risk assessments.
- Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, ensuring high standards of performance and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes and reporting capabilities.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance, working alongside external advisors where required.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional with strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to financial management. You will be confident working with senior stakeholders and capable of translating financial information into meaningful business insights.

- Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Sound understanding of financial compliance, audit and tax requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
