Be an integral part of the pre-construction team of an established Civil Engineering contractor operating across Somerset and surrounding counties. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of a growing Civil Engineering contractor that delivers multiple projects on behalf of local authorities, private sector and infrastructure clients.
As an Estimator you will:
- Be responsible for preparation and submission of all bids.
- Review specifications, drawings, schedules and tender documents.
- Analyse labour, material and plant subcontractors for best value.
- Produce BoQ and pricing schedules.
- Identify and monitor risk/opportunities.
- Have experience of working for a Civil Engineering contractor.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Have experience of reviewing contract terms and conditions, identifying and clarifying scope of work at tender stage and creating commercial strategies.
- Have worked on tenders within the Civil Engineering industry.
- Have working knowledge of NEC & JCT contracts.
- Be experienced with MS Office, Bluebeam and estimating software (Causeway, Valesco etc).
Location: You will be based from our clients’ offices in Bridgwater and required to attend projects on a weekly basis.
Working hours: 08:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday.
Salary band: £60,000 - £75,000 per annum.
Benefits package: Car allowance, 31 days annual leave (inc. bank holidays), company pension etc.
