Abatec is assisting their client, a leading civil engineering contractor who is seeking a talented and motivated Project Engineer to join a growing team delivering clean water infrastructure projects across the Bristol Water Framework. You will play a key role in delivering a programme of pipeline and clean water schemes, working across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility and route selection through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in linear infrastructure who are looking to further develop their career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
As Project Engineer you will:
- Assist with route selection, feasibility assessments, and optioneering for new pipeline and water main installations.
- Support the development and delivery of clean water infrastructure projects across the Bristol Water Framework.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, specifications, and programme requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, designers, and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support construction teams with technical queries, design changes, and buildability reviews.
- Liaise with landowners, local authorities, statutory undertakers, and other stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
- Identify and manage engineering, environmental, land, and third-party constraints.
Our client requires a Project Engineer with:
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in a Project Engineer, Design Engineer, Civil Engineer role within Utilities, water, or infrastructure.
- Experience working on linear infrastructure projects (water, gas, power, pipelines).
- Ability to coordinate technical.
- Understanding of route planning, stakeholder management, landowner engagement, and environmental considerations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Salary and benefits include:
- £50,000 - £55,000 per annum.
