We are currently looking for an Electrical Test Engineer to join an established, innovative, growing electrical manufacturer on a permanent basis, based in Ponteland.
As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and preparing test certificates and records. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Test Engineer:
- Perform electrical panel testing and inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturing industry standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment.
- Document and report test results, highlighting any defects or compliance concerns.
- Work closely with the Production team to ensure all panels are safely tested and meet safety regulations in a timely manner to meet the Customer delivery schedule.
- Maintain and calibrate testing tools and equipment.
- Adhere to risk assessments, method statements, and company safety procedures.
- Contribute to the creation of SOPs.
Requirements of an Electrical Test Engineer:
- Industrial experience within electrical testing environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical regulations and compliance standards.
- Will be required to build electrical panels when required.
Qualifications:
- 18th Edition (BS 7671) – IEE Wiring Regulations (essential)
- C&G 2391 – Inspection & Testing (highly desirable)
What’s on Offer?
Up to £23 per hour and benefits package including, company pension scheme, 37.5 hours working week, plus paid overtime. Friday finish 1.30pm.
