We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Technician to support the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of commercial audio visual systems on large-scale infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for installing AV hardware, terminating low-voltage cabling, building equipment racks, and assisting with system configuration while adhering to safety standards and project specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Install audio visual control systems, including Crestron and Extron platforms, projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, and sound masking systems.
- Install mounting hardware on various wall and ceiling types for projectors, displays, speakers, and wireless microphones.
- Install and terminate low-voltage AV cabling, including 18/2, coaxial, CAT5e, and CAT6 cables.
- Terminate RG6, HD-SDI, SDI, XLR, and RCA connections.
- Route and dress cabling from IT closets to device locations such as equipment racks, displays, projectors, and speakers.
- Install cable pathways using J-hooks and D-rings.
- Perform cable management, including dressing and labeling.
- Build and organize AV equipment racks.
- Troubleshoot basic audio, video, and control system issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints and installation documentation.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and management through written and verbal communication.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and maintaining a clean job site in accordance with OSHA standards.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months of commercial audio visual installation experience.
- Experience with control systems such as Crestron or Extron.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts, in confined spaces, and on feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Ownership and use of basic hand tools, including multi-bit screwdriver, tape measure, snips, pliers, RG6 cable stripper, coax crimper, punch-down tool, flashlight, work boots (steel toe or composite toe), gloves, and tool pouch.
