The Junior Laboratory Technician will support high-volume scientific laboratory operations, focusing on confirmatory testing and quality control within the First Reviewers department. This role involves operating advanced instrumentation, reviewing test results, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and laboratory safety protocols.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate GC/MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation for confirmatory testing
- Review and process non-negative test results in compliance with SAMHSA guidelines and other regulatory requirements
- Perform routine quality control (QC) activities
- Accurately document testing and review results according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related scientific field
- Prior laboratory experience (academic or professional)
- Experience with GC/MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation preferred
- Ability to work assigned shifts, including evenings and overnights
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow regulated procedures
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
Work Experience:
- Previous laboratory experience required; experience in confirmatory testing or similar role preferred
