Overview
In this role you join a Belfast-based employer-side Employment team to handle a mix of contentious and advisory work across NI, England & Wales, and ROI. You will tackle tribunal claims and appeals, injunctions on covenants, and complex group claims, as well as TUPE, outsourcing and employment aspects of major corporate deals. You’ll manage grievances, discipline, long-term absence, industrial relations, and pensions issues. The role emphasizes practical advice, strong advocacy, and client training, within a highly regarded team. This cross-border exposure offers meaningful impact and opportunities to shape employment practice across jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Tribunal claims and appeals (Industrial and Fair Employment Tribunal)
- Injunctions to enforce restrictive covenants and defense of complex group claims
- TUPE, outsourcing, and the employment side of high-profile corporate deals
- Grievances, discipline, long-term absence, industrial relations and pensions issues
Key requirements
- Associate-level employment experience, ideally employer-side
- NI qualification, or E&W / ROI qualification with a view to practising in NI
- Confident advocacy and clear, practical advice
