Abacus is recruiting for a Compliance Officer for a leading professional services firm. This is an opportunity to step into a visible, hands-on position within a well-established professional environment, where your work directly impacts how the business operates and manages risk. You’ll sit at the centre of onboarding, AML, and compliance activity. You will work closely with stakeholders across the firm to keep things moving while ensuring standards are never compromised.

Role:

  • Managing client onboarding from start to finish, across a range of risk levels
  • Carrying out AML, KYC and due diligence / CDD checks
  • Acting as a key contact for compliance queries from across the business
  • Supporting colleagues to progress matters efficiently without cutting corners
  • Monitoring higher-risk clients and escalating issues where needed
  • Getting involved in file reviews, audits, and quality assurance work
  • Contributing to improvements in systems, processes, and workflows.

It’s a role where you’ll balance risk awareness with commercial understanding — knowing when to challenge and when to enable progress.

Requirement:

  • Experience in compliance, onboarding, or risk within a regulated environment
  • A solid understanding of AML, KYC, and client due diligence processes
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working with stakeholders across different levels of a business
  • A proactive mindset — someone who spots issues and takes ownership.
  • Experience within legal or professional services is a strong advantage, but not essential.
  • Experience of Lexcel and/or ISO, internal audit is beneficial.

Rewards:

  • Join a highly regarded company and respected compliance team
  • You’ll be part of a team that values quality and collaboration, not just process
  • Exposure to a broad range of compliance activity — not siloed into one area
  • A chance to influence how things are done, not just follow existing processes
  • A supportive environment where your development is taken seriously.

If you’re ready for a role where you can build your compliance career while having real impact, then please get in contact for more information.
