A large public sector organisation is keen to appoint a solicitor or barrister to join their In-House legal team. This is a unique opportunity that offers a strong variety of challenge and a spectrum of legal works which includes commercial contract negotiation, governance, corporate law, property/estate management, procurement and more.

Aside from offering at least 4 years PQE in these areas, you must demonstrate some very strong personal qualities such as interpersonal skills, influence and negotiation, communication plus have a very sound business acumen and judgement. You will deal with a mix of internal stakeholders from director level to junior management and guide them with both legal and commercial direction. So, the ability to be objective and be able to calculate and assess risk e.g. governance and publicity impact will be a useful competency.

Every day is different - you will be able to quickly solve small legal problems, but you are also central to some major external projects and internal policy developments. You will join a very strong legal team who have a very effective and positive working environment. You will be the type of person who can be trusted to get on with it, make your best judgement and be proactive. If you thrive on micro-management, please do NOT apply!

This is initially a two-year fixed term contract however opportunities to sustain that do arise. If you are coming to the end of a contract, are immediately available then it is an obvious solution. However, the role will equally suit someone who is in a permanent practice role who wants to get involved in more meaty tasks and be able to look back and feel they were involved in major landmark projects. Indeed, in today's uncertain climate, you may be facing some uncertainty and can assess a secure two-year fixed term role in the public sector as a more secure option.

There is a very impressive remuneration package on offer.
