Abacus is promoting an incredibly unique opportunity for a Paralegal to develop expertise in one of the legal world’s most contentious and fast‑moving areas of law. Our client’s outstanding Data and Cyber team collaborates with many national and global clients. You will join the team during an exciting period of growth, with potential progression opportunities.

As part of your role, you will advise on a range of privacy matters, data issues, and cyber‑matters; support large employer clients with workplace matters; and advise clients on developing sound business and policy infrastructure. This includes onboarding and compliance checking procedures, FOI requests, privacy notices, AI management, and data access subject requests (DSARs). The team also helps clients pre‑empt, manage, and overcome highly challenging brand‑threatening issues such as GDPR compliance, data breaches, and cyber‑attacks. You will work across varying law departments, offering a diversity of work and client types.

The Candidate

Ideally, you have at least six months of experience in this field, though we welcome candidates eager to commence a paralegal career and demonstrate a strong interest in this area of law. You should possess a strong desire to learn, develop within the team, and demonstrate impressive analytical ability and critical thinking. A willingness to take ownership, work autonomously, and solve problems is essential. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work with clients across a range of active workstreams are required.
