Abacus is hiring a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (with a Construction focus) at junior to mid-level PQE to join a highly reputable firm with a highly regarded Disputes team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes for major corporates, developers, contractors, insurers, and public sector clients.
Role
You will advise on a broad range of commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on construction and engineering matters, including:
- Construction and engineering disputes (TCC matters)
- Adjudications, arbitrations, and High Court litigation
- Disputes arising from JCT, NEC, and bespoke construction contracts
- Professional negligence claims involving construction professionals
- Delay, disruption, and defects claims
- General commercial litigation matters
You will work closely with partners on significant cases while gaining increasing responsibility for managing matters and client relationships.
About you
A Qualified Solicitor with circa typically 1 to 5 years PQE in Commercial Litigation along with:
- Experience in construction‑related disputes or a strong interest in specialising
- Familiarity with litigation procedure and dispute resolution processes
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy preparation skills
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Direct experience of adjudication and/or arbitration proceedings
- Technical understanding of construction projects or industry background
