Abacus is recruiting for a leading financial institution who wish to hire an Organisational Effectiveness Partner to join the Human Resources team in Belfast. This is an outstanding and career-defining role for someone who has a firm interest and enthusiasm for strategic workforce planning, skills-based organisations, demand and supply analysis, data and insights, stakeholder engagement and project management.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for an acclaimed employer brand. You will gain an excellent remuneration package with a competitive base salary, bonus and a range of attractive perks and benefits. The company offers a healthy and value-driven culture and environment and has an exceptional client base and workforce.

Focus

You will be a curious person who will actively be involved in managing projects and initiatives such as:

  • Map skills across the workforce (what people can do, and at what level)
  • Use skills data to decide who does what work (projects, roles, problem-solving)
  • Focus learning on closing skill gaps linked to business goals and strategy
  • Promote internal mobility (moving people based on skills match, not just department)
  • Build teams around capability needs rather than fixed org charts.

This is important to the company because it helps with:

  • Managing talent plans and shortages (especially data, cyber, AML, risk, cloud)
  • Faster delivery of change and transformation work
  • Better resourcing decisions (less “who’s available?” and more “who has the right skills?”)
  • Workforce planning based on capability gaps, not headcount only.

You will also strive to:

  • Lead the design and delivery of Strategic Workforce Planning across the business
  • Turn workforce data into insight and help leaders make informed decisions
  • Create practical frameworks and processes that support long-term workforce planning
  • Build demand/supply models to support workforce sizing, shaping and future skills planning
  • Work across teams to create one joined-up plan and get senior stakeholders on board
  • Project manage improvements such as automation of workforce reporting and trend dashboards
  • Support wider people projects linked to change, future skills and business readiness
  • Bring in market insight and best practice to keep our approach fresh and effective.
Suitability

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong knowledge of workforce planning tools and techniques
  • Experience delivering senior-level people projects (end-to-end, from concept to implementation)
  • Confidence using project management tools/methodologies to drive delivery and track progress
  • The ability to interpret workforce data and make clear, fact-based recommendations
  • Experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders, including gaining buy-in for change
  • A track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams and building strong relationships
  • A good understanding of future skills trends and what organisations need to stay competitive
  • A curious and agile person who can work and research with autonomy but also be open and engaging with people at all levels.

This is a role with impact. The work you do will help the team shape decisions about how the company will build, buy, borrow and boost skills, ensuring the company is ready for the future and set up for sustainable growth. If this role sounds right for you, then send an updated CV through the link or contact Alan Braithwaite for an honest and confidential discussion.
