Abacus is hiring an ambitious Solicitor to join the Commercial Litigation team of a large national firm. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist insurance litigation team handling a varied caseload of property damage and asset recoveries, including subrogated property claims, uninsured loss recoveries, overpayment recovery, property damage defence, and indemnity disputes.
You will manage your own pre-litigated and litigated caseload, while also supporting the team manager and supervising two paralegals. The role involves developing case strategies, applying relevant case law, ensuring compliance with client SLAs and KPIs, and working closely with insurer clients to progress matters efficiently to settlement or resolution. You will operate with a range of clients and files at mixed complexity and scale.
The ideal candidate will:
- A Solicitor, at NQ or up to 3 yr PQE
- Ideally offer some experience in litigation or property damage work (desirable but not essential) but the client is open to someone who is keen to pivot to a new area of law
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and case management skills
- Be organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Be confident communicating with colleagues and clients.
