Abacus is partnering with an impressive law practice to hire a Banking and Finance Lawyer. This team helps clients with the key legal and documentation aspects of debt finance, mergers and acquisitions, debt refinancing and asset finance. You'll work closely with top quality banking and finance lawyers across a significant footprint.

In this role, you will focus on drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a range of financial services legal documents, including loan agreements, security documents, ancillary documents, and CP documentation. You will use your in-depth knowledge of lending transactions and market trends to support clients in the negotiation and execution of complex lending arrangements and in creating customized contract negotiation playbooks. You will also assist clients in adopting technology-enabled workflows to enhance the efficiency of contract preparation, negotiation, and execution.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a banking and finance lawyer who wants to drive innovation in legal services and tackle practical business challenges.

The right candidate will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor in Northern Ireland or England & Wales (or ideally dual).
  • Ideally with significant PQE across all banking and finance workstreams.
  • Have experience negotiating loan agreements and advising on lending and security-related transactional matters.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of financial services regulations and their impact on banks, insurers, funds, asset managers, and other financial institutions.
