We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts working with our pallet network department. Unloading and loading of vehicles, keeping the yard clean and tidy, scanning of barcodes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to contribute to efficient warehouse management. High level of reliability and punctuality is essential; some van driving required at times.
Duties:
- Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting as needed to maintain operational safety and efficiency.
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety.
- Keep the yard and working area clean and tidy.
- Warehouse scanning, checking stock, and general housekeeping.
- Complete small ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Wait for returning vehicles and reload as needed.
- Evening loading of double-deckers, including scanning and ensuring curtains are secured.
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift machinery, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Support warehouse organisation by stacking, arranging, and maintaining storage areas in a tidy manner.
- Some van driving required during holiday period.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts within a warehouse environment.
- Strong materials handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads safely.
- Basic maths skills for inventory counting and measurements.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Full UK Manual driving license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence essential.
