As a Security Engineer at Abacus, you will be responsible for securing Abacus client’s technology systems. This role requires articulating technology to clients with varying degrees of technical knowledge to describe security remediation outcomes with their qualities and risks. You will collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams, and vendors through scheduling and logistics to extract the best possible outcomes in accuracy, transparency, and timeliness. A qualifying candidate will need to bring a solid background in current technologies that informs their understanding of how they are compromised and ultimately secured.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following)
- Remediate security findings through thorough testing and liability forecasting to ensure smooth delivery of controls.
- Codify processes and procedures for Security Remediations through documentation.
- Track and manage Security Remediation requests to assist in extending visibility to clients on the progress of remediations that originate from their security vendor engagements.
- Project manage one-off projects that the CTM team is responsible for that originate from Security Remediations.
- Escalate unresolved issues and analyze bad outcomes for process improvement.
- Create documentation regarding process and systems.
- Provide ownership and follow up of pending issues to resolution.
- Advise stakeholders and translate business requirements into secure and reliable solutions.
- Implement email security measures to protect against phishing and other cybersecurity threats.
- Execute vulnerability remediation to identify and fix security weaknesses in systems and networks.
- Demonstrated ability in security best practices and industry standards.
- This individual will configure and manage cloud services, email security, baseline hardening/standard configurations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-4 years of cybersecurity experience in a cloud services environment.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a client-facing technology position.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a systems engineering position.
- Experience in the financial sector is a plus.
- Experience working at an MSP is a plus.
- Security and/or Systems certifications are a plus.
Skills
- Ability to deliver bespoke security technology solutions for clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines.
- Highly logical thinker and skilled in identifying root cause.
- Must have availability to occasionally work nights and some weekends.
- Strong technical skills with public cloud, such as Office 365 and Azure in particular.
- Strong technical skills in Windows Server Technologies, including Active Directory.
