Abacus Education Group is an education consultancy and provider of services for private tutors. We work with agents across Asia, the Middle East, Russia, Europe and the UK to support families looking for school/university placement advice as well as quality private tutors. The vast majority of our tutors work remotely. The company partners with families and learners to provide tailored academic support across a range of subjects and grade levels. Abacus Education Group emphasises flexible, student-centred tutoring that adapts to individual learning styles and goals. The team values professionalism, clear communication, and measurable academic progress for every learner. Tutors are supported with resources and guidance to maintain consistent, effective instruction in a remote environment.

Unlike many other agencies and platforms, we operate a 0% commission service for tutors who are able to set their own rates and keep 100% of the lesson fee agreed between them and the client. There is also no charge to students for contacting tutors ensuring tutors receive more enquiries. In comparison:

  • Tutorful - adds 35% to your rate to charge the student
  • Tutor Hunt - charges tutors 25-32% commission
  • Superprof - charges students a membership fee
  • Preply - charges tutors 18-33% commission
  • MyTutor - charges c. 40% commission

Agencies will typically charge clients at least double the rate the tutor is paid. All of our approved tutors have free access to an extensive library of lesson resources to assist in exam preparation. Abacus Education's platform offers 3 months free membership for approved tutors, after which a small fee is charged to keep your listing active. We invest heavily in advertising to drive traffic to the Abacus site and are confident the students and enquiries you will receive represent a much better value service than traditional platforms and agency agreements.
