At Wyre, we take pride in the maintenance of our outdoor spaces. We are looking to recruit a Parks Area Team Leader who has the necessary skills and ability to lead a team of Gardeners and Skilled Gardeners that maintain our award-winning open spaces. You will work throughout Wyre Borough including cemeteries, and you will have the opportunity to build on your existing skills of managing and supervising teams through the development opportunities we offer, while increasing your overall skills, confidence and experience in grounds maintenance.
Working alongside experienced colleagues that have delivered our year-on-year green flag success, you’ll be responsible for a programme of work and will recommend future improvements to maintain fine turf areas including maintenance on ornamental areas, sports pitches, parks and recreational spaces.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Gardeners and Skilled Gardeners to maintain award-winning open spaces across Wyre Borough.
- Plan and supervise a programme of work; contribute to service improvements for turf, ornamental areas, sports pitches, parks and recreational spaces.
- Collaborate with colleagues to uphold high standards of grounds maintenance and safety.
Requirements
- NVQ level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent qualification including PA1 & PA6a
- The ability to supervise, motivate and lead a team
- Knowledge of and the ability to use a range of grounds maintenance equipment
- A current full driving licence
- Be sufficiently physically mobile to undertake the duties of a Parks Area Team Leader
