Abacus is hiring a skilled Lawyer to join a top Belfast practice with a dynamic and reputable brand. The role is suitable for a talented and ambitious Tax Solicitor with at least two years PQE and the salary is subject to the quality of your experience.
As a Tax Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in advising clients on complex tax matters, ensuring they make the most of legal breaks and loopholes permitted by legislation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across a diverse client base, collaborating with colleagues to provide tailored solutions while ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations.
You will help the team to:
- Provide expert legal advice on corporate and personal tax matters.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and documentation related to tax issues.
- Ensure clients take advantage of legal breaks and loopholes permitted by tax legislation.
- Handle tax planning for clients, making sure they understand the financial ramifications of purchases.
- Address the ownership and disposal of assets, including advising on structuring corporate portfolios in the most tax-efficient way.
- Offer transactional advice while working with corporate lawyers on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and property portfolio acquisitions.
- Represent clients in negotiations and disputes with tax authorities, including dealing with investigations or litigation resulting from prosecution by HMRC.
- Conduct tax risk assessments and assist with planning and structuring transactions.
You will offer a minimum of two years experience in tax law and strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and case law. You will also offer strong analytical skills and attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
