Abacus is working with a leading commercial law firm to recruit a Solicitor into its specialist team. This is a standout opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice at the forefront of data, technology and regulatory change.
You’ll work with high-profile clients across a range of sectors, advising on complex and evolving issues including data protection, cyber risk and emerging technologies such as AI. This is an ideal role for a newly qualified solicitor or junior associate looking to build a niche, future-proof specialism.
Role Summary
You will support on a broad mix of advisory and contentious matters within data privacy and cyber. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on UK and international data protection frameworks and compliance
- Supporting clients on data governance, risk management and regulatory strategy
- Assisting with data breaches, cyber incidents and regulatory investigations
- Advising on the use of emerging technologies, including AI and digital platforms
- Supporting on cross-border data issues and international data transfersWorking closely with clients to deliver practical, commercially focused solutions.
The Person
We’re keen to speak with Solicitors who:
- Are newly qualified or up to 2 years PQE, ideally with exposure to data privacy, IT or regulatory work
- Have a strong interest in data, technology and innovation
- Are commercially aware with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach
- Are strong communicators with excellent attention to detail
- Are eager to develop within a specialist, high-growth area of law.
