We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Internal Accountant to join this team on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm’s internal accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial records, timely payments, and the preparation of management information to support senior decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working independently, maintaining strong financial controls, and producing reliable reporting in a professional office environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintaining accurate internal accounting records using the firm’s CRM and integrated accounting systems
- Completing regular control account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing periodic management accounts for review by senior management
- Processing supplier payments in line with internal controls and approval procedures
- Producing ad hoc financial reports and supporting finance-related queries as required
- Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and relevant financial regulations
You will work closely with:
- Partners and senior management
- Administrative and finance staff
- Proven experience in an internal accounting or finance role
- Strong experience with control account reconciliations and management accounts preparation
- Experience working in a professional office environment
- Strong IT skills with experience using accounting software, particularly Xero
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Good understanding of internal accounting processes and financial controls
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Trustworthy and able to manage confidential information professionally
- Proactive, able to work independently and use initiative
- Strong problem-solving ability with a practical approach
- Qualified Accountant ACCA, ACA or CIMA or Accounting Technician
- Experience working within an accountancy or professional services firm
- Experience using integrated or data-driven accounting/CRM systems
Contract Details: Part-time (24 hours per week), Permanent position.
