The job – We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support the finance function by performing a range of accounting tasks, assisting with month-end reporting, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
The ideal candidate should have a strong client focus and have worked as part of a team leveraging data-driven insights, customer engagement tactics, and strategies to align with their goals.
They should also demonstrate a self-starter, creative approach, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize customer experiences, designing innovative solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
- Complete regular bank reconciliations.
- Manage all aspects of accounts payables and accounts receivables.
- Prepare client invoices in line with agreed contracts for review by the Financial Controller.
- Assist in preparing VAT returns and other statutory filings.
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with year-end close process by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Assist with the implementation of financial process controls.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.
- Support the monthly payroll process.
Qualifications and experience
- Graduate level/equivalent and working towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- 2 years or more experience in an accounting.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial processes.
- Experience in using accounting software and financial systems such a Excel for modelling.
