Abacus Care and Support is a privately owned family group specialising in supported living and healthcare for vulnerable adults. As we go through an exciting period of growth and expansion, we are looking for a Finance Manager to develop our financial systems and processes and support our business operations.
The Role
You’ll play a crucial role in managing all accounts operations for the company, working closely with Directors, the Operations Team, and Registered Manager to provide accurate, timely management information and financial advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day finance function, including staff training and development
- Produce monthly management accounts and present to the board
- Prepare detailed weekly rolling cashflow forecasts and optimise working capital
- Oversee month-end reconciliations and approve weekly payment runs
- Lead budget and forecast preparation, variance analysis, and KPI reporting
- Prepare statutory accounts to trial balance and liaise with external accountants
- Ensure all tax liabilities are accurate and paid to HMRC on time
- Drive process improvement and support systems implementation as the business grows
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified CIMA accountant with 2–3 years PQE
- Experience in healthcare and/or housing sectors is advantageous
- Strong communicator with previous staff management experience
- Strategic thinker with high attention to detail, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
£60,000 per annum
28 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays)
