About Us
At Abacus Care & Support, the people we support are at the heart of everything we do. We provide Supported Living environments for adults with learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury, complex needs, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a proactive HR Advisor to join our HR team.
The Role
You will provide a comprehensive HR advisory service across the organisation, supporting managers on a wide range of people matters while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and CQC regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and support managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance management
- Coordinate safer recruitment and onboarding processes, including pre-employment and Right to Work checks
- Maintain accurate, compliant employee records and HR systems
- Monitor mandatory training compliance and produce regular workforce reports
- Support employee wellbeing and engagement initiatives
- Assist with CQC inspection preparation and audit support
- Contribute to HR policy development and wider HR projects
What We're Looking For
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards it)
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role, including employee relations casework
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Understanding of safer recruitment principles
- Experience in health and social care or a regulated environment is desirable, as is familiarity with CQC requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
