Location: Rugby (relocating to Coventry in June 2027)
Working Hours: 1:30 pm – 10 pm, 40 hrs. per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday cover
Please note: Trucks, Technology and Industrial will be relocating from Rugby to Coventry. Candidates should be happy to commute to both sites during the transition period.
We are currently in the process of building a state‑of‑the‑art facility in Coventry, where you will support multiple Volvo Group brands. These include Volvo Penta, Renault Trucks, Volvo Trucks and Bus, handling a wide range of parts, from windscreens, truck beds, and engines to smaller components, ensuring the right products reach the right place efficiently and safely.
As a shift leader, you will take full ownership for the day‑to‑day performance of your operational shift, leading a team of 20 warehouse operatives. You will lead the daily warehouse operations and assist in the movement to automation at our new warehouse, as well as leading continuous improvement initiatives using data as a tool while applying Lean, Kaizen, VPS methodologies.

Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated strong performance in meeting operational targets and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Forklift licenses (Counterbalance, Reach Truck, High‑Level Order Picker, or similar) with safe operating experience (desirable)
- Experience with Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld scanners, accurately recording and retrieving data
- Excellent communicator across all levels of the business, including internal and external stakeholders.
- A data‑driven mindset with advanced Microsoft Office skills and Power BI knowledge would be advantageous
- You are a self‑starter who takes initiative, looking for opportunities to improve the day‑to‑day and to develop yourself as well as the team.
- Fluent in English with a valid UK driver’s license.
What You Will Do
- You will lead and develop a high‑performing team, monitoring the operational performance throughout the shift.
- Analyse operational data and KPI performance to spot trends, remove waste, and drive warehouse process improvements.
- Manage team schedules, including holidays and absences, to maintain business continuity.
- Present improvement initiatives, operational achievements and performance updates to the leadership team.
- Manage stock and ensure that all orders are processed, quality checked and fulfilled on time.
- Drive digital transformation by encouraging effective use of Warehouse Management Systems, automation, and reporting tools.
- Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and warehouse operating procedures, completing daily checks and reporting any defects.
You’ll work alongside other Warehouse Team Leaders and report to the Logistics Operations Manager. You will also work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to deliver operational excellence.
