Starting Salary: £26,100 per annum and Company Bonus up to £1,430

Location: Rugby (relocating to Coventry in June 2027)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 1:30 pm - 22:00 pm

Please note: GTO, Logistics Services, Volvo Group Logistics will be relocating from Rugby to Coventry. Candidates should be happy to commute to both sites during the transition period.

You’ll support core warehouse operations, including unloading and loading, receiving, storage, picking and packing, and dispatch, working with both automated systems (ASRS) and traditional methods. This vacancy is available due to an expansion in our warehouse operations team. You’ll support multiple Volvo Group brands, including Volvo Penta, Renault Trucks, Volvo Trucks and Bus, handling a wide range of parts, from windscreens, truck beds, and engines to smaller components, ensuring the right products reach the right place efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

  • Safety‑conscious and takes ownership of workplace safety.
  • Proven ability to meet operational targets and deadlines under pressure.
  • Fluent in English with a valid UK driving licence.
  • Forklift licences (Counterbalance, Reach Truck, High‑Level Order Picker, or similar) with safe operating experience (desirable).
  • Experience with Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and automated warehouse environments (desirable).
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld scanners, accurately recording and retrieving data (desirable).

Roles and Responsibilities

You’ll work alongside other warehouse operatives, two Warehouse Team Leaders, and the Logistics Operations Manager. Together, you’ll create a working environment that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What you will do

  • You’ll support warehouse operations, ensuring products are handled safely, stored correctly, and prepared efficiently for shipment.
  • You’ll use IT and data to investigate inventory issues and maintain stock accuracy across all areas.
  • Safely unload and check inbound deliveries against documentation.
  • Quality‑check and store products accurately.
  • Manage incoming returns and process them correctly.
  • Release orders from the system and prepare them for picking by warehouse area.
  • Manage stock moves, extractions, and complex/high‑density/specialty storage (e.g., hazardous items).
  • Operate mechanical handling equipment safely and report any defects or hazards.
  • Participate in team meetings, employee review processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
