Our prestigious Chiltern Depot based in Dunstable is currently looking for a qualified HGV Technician Supervisor with excellent diagnostic and mechanical skills to work rotating shifts: Working 44 hours Mon-Fri 06.00 to 16.00 and 12.00 – 22.00 (1 hr unpaid lunch break). Friday’s will be 1 hour less: 06.00‑15.00 and 12.00‑21.00. Saturday's as required. Pay: c£23.50 per hour and overtime at time and a half.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the shift technicians and co‑ordinate workload
- Liaise with the Workshop Manager regarding shift staff, training needs, KPIs etc.
- Diagnose and repair vehicles
- Servicing of vehicles to a high standard
- Participation in call out and breakdown rota – if/when required
- Use diagnostic equipment
- Carry out scheduled safety inspections and report any required rectifications
- Complete job cards clearly and accurately
Essential Qualifications and Knowledge
- Electrical and mechanical skills and experience
- Good understanding of H&S issues in a workshop environment
- Clean driving licence – HGV would be an advantage
