Join Our Team as an Apprentice HGV Technician! We’re hiring at the following depots: Aberdeen, Ayr, Blyth, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Glasgow East, Glasgow West, Inverness, Perth, Teesside, and Washington.

What You’ll Do
- Assist with Repairs: Follow Volvo Standard Times and use Volvo Special Tools to ensure high-quality service.
- Diagnose Vehicle Issues: Work alongside the team to identify and troubleshoot vehicle faults, communicating any vehicle issues to the Workshop Supervisor to prevent delays.
- Master Warranty Procedures: Learn to navigate warranty processes, ensuring the correct materials and practices are used.
- Collaborate with the Parts Team: Ensure the correct replacement parts are sourced and fitted accurately.
- Contribute to Workshop Maintenance: Help keep the workshop clean and organised for a safe, efficient environment.
- Accurate Time and Job Recording: Maintain precise job cards and adhere to company time tracking protocols.
- Attend College Courses: Engage in regular learning and achieve the required academic standards.
What We Offer
Starting your apprenticeship means receiving all the necessary equipment, including tools to support your journey as a technician. You’ll work side-by-side with experienced technicians, learning to repair, service, MOT, and maintain modern trucks, buses, and coaches – including hybrid technology and more! Training is delivered in the workplace and on block release at Remit’s dedicated Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby. Remit Academy is dedicated to Volvo and our apprenticeship programme. There are a total of 18 blocks over a 32 month programme and these are split between virtual classes and days in Derby. The costs for accommodation, food and travel are met by the employer and there will be no cost to you.

- Enthusiastic individuals who have a strong interest in heavy vehicles.
- A basic understanding of mechanical systems and a passion for learning.
- Candidates who have grade 4 GCSE or above in English and Maths.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
