We are seeking a skilled Electrical Panel Builder/Electrician to join our company. This role involves designing, ordering, assembling, wiring, and testing electrical distribution boards and control panels used in our retail installations. The ideal candidate must have electrical installation qualification NVQ Level 3 and 18th edition, and a background in electrical assembly/installation and electrical distribution boards. This position would suit electricians looking for a change to work off site in a controlled workshop.
Duties
- Assemble electrical panels according to detailed schematics and technical drawings
- Install components such as MCCB, RCBO, MCBs, contactors, and other control devices
- Perform wiring and cutting of trunking
- Verify connections and component placement using ohmmeters and other measurement tools
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance
- Test completed panels for functionality and troubleshoot electrical issues as needed
- Maintain documentation of assembly processes and quality checks
- Collaborate with electrical teams to interpret schematics and drawings for accurate assembly
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical wiring and panel installation
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits and purpose
- Familiarity with electrical wiring and connections
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting with ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and component installation
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to work safely on your own in an industrial environment while adhering to safety protocols
