Ab Rogers Design is seeking a studio manager/PA to join its team in London. Ab Rogers Design is a multi-disciplinary design studio with offices in London and Lisbon, working internationally across cultural, hospitality, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors. Our London studio is a team of 10+ architects, interior, industrial and communication designers.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious studio manager/PA to join our London design studio. This role offers the opportunity to work in a creative, inspiring and supportive atmosphere with a focus on design, food, and culture. This is a full time, office-based role in Hackney, East London. The successful candidate will support the creative director while managing studio operations, involving a wide variety of tasks including front of house, diary management, communications, event organisation and logistics. We are looking for someone with the ability to prioritise workload, balancing the varied needs of the creative director and the studio is essential. A significant part of this role is supporting me in my role as creative director of ARD. This involves immersing yourself in an exciting, dynamic world of creative, inspiring minds – artists, makers, architects, doctors, designers, curators and on and on. For this, I am looking for someone curious, enthusiastic, dedicated and looking for a job full of fun, variety and endless discovery, and someone who can become an ambassador for ARD.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as front of house and first point of contact for phone calls and visitors to the studio.
- Managing day-to-day office operations including post, managing studio supplies, and maintaining the studio diary.
- Coordinating couriers, taking responsibility for sending and receiving parcels.
- Overseeing studio cleaning and maintenance.
- Supporting IT and software administration, liaising with external providers and assisting with general technical troubleshooting.
- Maintaining a safe workplace environment by ensuring health and safety policies are implemented and followed.
- Organising studio outings and events.
- Assisting with studio meetings and travel arrangements.
- Supporting human resources functions for the studio team alongside our finance manager.
- Completing errands as needed.
PA to Creative Director:
- Coordinate diary management across multiple time-zones, including arranging and reorganising internal and external meetings, appointments and zoom calls.
- Provide reminders and time management support.
- Draft emails and handle communications alongside our associate copywriter.
- Coordinate travel arrangements including transport, accommodation, itineraries, and visas (UK & International).
- Handle miscellaneous tasks such as completion of forms and clerical documentation, ordering items and making bookings.
- Assist with coordination of home-related and property tasks, liaising with services, cleaning, repairs and ongoing maintenance as required.
- Assist with private PA responsibilities relating to family life as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Minimum two to three years' experience in a similar role, ideally in a creative design or architectural studio.
- Good knowledge of Office 365 including Excel.
- High level of fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise and multi-task.
- Confident, intelligent and proactive approach.
- Ability to work using own initiative.
- Rigorous, methodical and calm approach under pressure.
- Strong people skills and ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across all levels.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, supporting the team in meeting their project needs and deadlines.
- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills welcomed.
