Key Tasks:The job requires the consistent execution of routine tasks (daily / weekly / monthly) to support the organisation in the efficient and effective maintenance and development of the process automation systems to enable the smooth operation of the site to meet production requirements.
Accountabilities:- Development, support and maintenance of the process automation systems on site
- Provision of maintenance and fault finding support for PLC software, hardware, SCADA, process communication networks, automation server hardware and operating systems across site and carrying out of development and upgrades to these systems as required
- Provision of maintenance and fault finding support of control & instrumentation and carrying out of development and upgrades to these systems as required
- Provision of emergency maintenance support for PLC hardware and operating systems, SCADA and view nodes hardware and operating systems and process communication networks, server hardware and operating systems issues (This will require working the Department out of hours call out rota)
- Analysis of data for downtime and development of solutions to eliminate reoccurring issues that impact on Production activities, ensuring follow up on innovation activities
- Development of automation owned data management systems to supply the required information to allow analysis and improvement of Site KPIs
- Development of data capture systems from plant to allow reporting systems to be developed
- Development and implementation of software version control procedures for site
- Provision of support to departmental operational performance through daily, weekly and monthly KPIs (MCRS)
- Development and implementation of improvement initiatives in line with Departmental strategy to deliver KPI improvement and cost reduction
- Provision of automation support during development and commissioning of Capex projects
- Maintenance of conformance with site automation standards during Capex projects
- Management of automation capital request process from RIA to implementation stage
- Provision of compliance with corporate automation standards within department
- Definition and implementation of site automation standards for hardware and software and URS / FDS development
- Liaison with ZBS on automation audits
- Evaluation and implementation of spare part procedures for automation equipment
- Support for site departments in problem solving
- Attendance at daily meetings and ITFs as required and management of ITF action implementation
- Management of interface with equipment suppliers in co-ordination with Brewery Support in relation to the site automation activities
- Delivery of cost optimisation across all areas of the department / site as per departmental strategy
- Management of compliance with and help in creating SOP’s for department
- Development and implementation of automation training packages to uplift the skill level of the Technical Services shift teams on Automation systems
- ONC/HNC in Engineering discipline
- Experience of technical services in an engineering support role
- Experience of managing significant change issues
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing principles, tools and techniques
- Good record of delivering process improvement
- Sound knowledge of the packaging and production processes
- Basic business sense
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Flexibility
- Good writing and verbal communication skills
