The company Group Health, Safety and Environmental team is responsible for managing the Health, Safety and Environmental functions and for delivering the continuous improvement of HSE performance throughout the company and our wider global partners.
The primary function of this exciting hands-on role is to assist the Group Health, Safety and Environment Manager in meeting all HSE Objectives and targets and ensuring the QHSE Management Systems, Policies and Procedures are complied with by all employees, contractors and visitors within their facilities.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct internal audits as per the QHSE Management Systems audit program and ensure corrective actions are closed out in a timely manner.
- Assist with the promotion and development of Health and Safety culture on sites to increase employee awareness and encourage safety.
- Conduct HSE training sessions/ Toolbox Talks when required.
- Assist with the development and review of workplace Risk and COSHH Assessments.
- Recording of all workplace incidents and injuries, including near miss reporting and assisting with any subsequent investigations.
- Analyse and monitor HSE data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicating HSE related information, including safety alerts to staff when required.
- Assisting with quarterly HSE Committee Meetings.
- Reviewing and updating management system documentation and updating registers as required.
- Assisting with preparations for external audits.
- Assisting with the collection and monitoring of energy or carbon producing data from the group for inclusion into the annual report and the group net zero program.
What are we looking for?
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and guidance and its practical application.
- Competent in the use of general IT software β word, excel, PowerPoint & e-mail.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues.
- Knowledge of QHSE Management Systems
- Valid Driving License holder
- Internal Auditor for ISO 14001, 45001 & 9001
- Holding Tech IOSH status or higher and committed to personal and professional development.
- A technical background β ideally in manufacturing
- Environmental qualification such as IEMA Foundation Certificate.
