AB Dynamics is offering a Year in Industry placement for Electrical and Electronic Engineering undergraduates to join its Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Design Engineering team, working on robotic and laboratory test systems for automotive R&D applications. The placement student will support the specification, design and integration of electrical and electronic subsystems, including schematic capture, wiring design, PCB layout, and prototype verification under the guidance of senior engineers.
Typical activities include:
- Contributing to design reviews
- Supporting build and test activities with manufacturing and commissioning teams
- Assisting with fault-finding and issue resolution across track and lab test products
- Generating and maintaining technical documentation
This role is aimed at students who have completed at least two years of an accredited Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree, demonstrate a strong interest in automotive test and measurement technologies, and can apply core circuit theory, control and instrumentation principles in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
This one-year placement offers a Computer Science (or similar) student the opportunity to join AB Dynamics' HMI Software team, which designs, develops, and tests front-end software for our track and laboratory-based products. You will work on creating modern, intuitive user interfaces and developing tools that enhance the usability and functionality of our market-leading automotive test systems.
The role involves:
- Designing and implementing new features within our main software suite
- Assisting lead developers in shaping future product interfaces
- Contributing to tools that make debugging and system interaction more efficient
You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and stakeholders, gaining exposure to real-world software development practices, problem-solving, and rapid issue resolution.
