Please note, this position will be based on a 30 hour working week (Mon-Fri, 6 hours per day). This is a varied role providing support to the Senior Management Accountant focusing on product costing, margin analysis and overhead variances. In addition, the postholder will provide support to the wider Finance team.
Core Responsibilities
- Product costing, including the following:
- Reviewing inventory costs
- Ensuring labour costs are included within manufactured parts
- Support with annual update of inventory costs
- Allocation of customer receipts and supplier payments and maintenance of the cash books
- Processing of employee expenses
- Review of GRN queries
- Cover for fixed asset accounting
What are we looking for?
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs, grade A*-C (including English & Maths)
- Experience in a Finance department, minimum of 3 years
- A good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience of ERP systems
- Ideally experience in large corporate to understand best practice.
- AAT or equivalent
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work with colleagues at all levels
- Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential material
