The Role & Key Responsibilities

Contract: Permanent, Monday to Friday – Flexibility is essential, with early morning starts and occasional late finishes.

The Area Coordinator will be responsible for delivering a full milk recording service in a defined area as allocated by their Area Service Manager. This involves monthly visits to farms within the Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, or Buckinghamshire area, collecting event data about individual cows and updating the NMR database. It may also involve taking milk samples from each cow as they are milked when required. The role may support and provide the robot shuttle hire service, including organising, transporting, setting up, taking down, cleaning, and storing of robot shuttles, holiday cover, and box deliveries/collections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Home-based role covering a wide area of farms, which could involve extensive driving.
  • Responsible for data collection and entry into a custom-built software package.
  • Coordinate the collection of milk samples from farms.
  • Organise and train self-employed samplers.
  • Transport sample boxes/shuttles.
  • Complete NMR robot shuttle recording if required.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality.

About you:

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Effective team player and able to add value.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Fully PC literate.
  • Experience in milk recording or practical dairy farming (desirable).

Additional Information:

  • A valid UK Driving Licence is required.
  • Ability to work early mornings when needed.
