This is a prominent role across our Rugeley and Fradley sites, where you’ll shape culture, embed leading indicators, and ensure safety is part of our identity. We’re a well-invested business, open to new ideas and practical technology that genuinely reduces risk. This is more than managing compliance!
You’ll manage the SHEQ agenda across two busy manufacturing sites handling powdered animal nutritional products, ensuring robust compliance whilst facilitating our behaviour-led safety culture. This is not a desk-bound role. You’ll be present on the shop floor, coaching teams, challenging constructively, recognising great behaviours, and partnering closely with operations and engineering leaders to deliver meaningful, lasting improvements.
Responsibilities:- You will be a visible safety leader across both sites and across all shifts.
- Enhancing and tracking leading safety indicators and encouraging positive safety conversations.
- Maintaining and improving SHEQ systems aligned to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
- Coaching leaders and colleagues to embed “safety as second nature”.
- Ensuring reporting systems translate learnings into actions.
- Investigate how technology and equipment can improve safety outcomes.
- Demonstrated EHS leadership experience within manufacturing, logistics, or other industrial environments.
- NEBOSH qualified with solid working knowledge of UK H&S legislation.
- Experience refining and maintaining ISO-aligned management systems.
- History of ensuring compliance and positively reinforcing safety culture.
- Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels; empathy, tenacity and attention to detail will be key personal traits.
- Experience in powdered manufacturing, animal nutrition, or highly automated production environments is advantageous but not essential.
