The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title:Management Accountant - Direct To Farm (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Location: Peterborough (Hybrid - Typically one to two days a week in the office).

Shift details: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Are you an ambitious Management Accountant with a passion for turning financial data into meaningful business insight? Do you enjoy working with stakeholders across the business, improving processes, and providing accurate reporting that supports key commercial decisions?

Our team is looking for a talented Management Accountant to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner and Financial Controller, delivering robust financial reporting, supporting month-end activities, maintaining strong financial controls, and helping drive continuous improvement across a growing and evolving business

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing accurate and timely management reports across D2F sales channels and product lines, including variance analysis and insight.
  • Calculating, posting and reviewing journals, including accruals, prepayments, recharges, inventory provisions and profit share adjustments.
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial information is complete, accurate and robust.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes, helping deliver high-quality financial reporting to agreed deadlines.
  • Monitoring compliance with the Financial Controls Framework and helping maintain strong financial governance.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual financial returns.
  • Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business, providing financial information and responding to ad hoc requests.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, streamline reporting and support the team's digital reporting journey, including Power BI development.

What you'll bring:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Previous management accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn, challenge existing processes and continuously improve ways of working.
  • Experience using finance systems such as AX, Sage, Xero or similar ERP platforms.
