Technical Architect in Milton Keynes

Location: Peterborough – Hybrid (Remote and office).

We are looking for a talented Technical Architect to join our growing Architecture team. In this role, you will shape and deliver infrastructure modernisation initiatives across the organisation, working closely with cross‑functional teams to design robust, cloud‑centric solutions that support global operations and long‑term technology strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end technical architecture solutions with a strong focus on cloud (Azure IaaS & PaaS) and infrastructure modernisation.
• Lead the design and migration of legacy environments to cloud‑centric models, including Active Directory, M365, and business‑critical applications.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and IT teams to translate requirements into scalable and secure technical designs.
• Ensure all solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, governance, and best practice (security, integration, resilience, cost).
• Produce high‑quality architecture documentation, including designs, roadmaps, and supporting materials for governance and delivery.
• Oversee implementation to ensure solutions are delivered in line with approved designs and architectural principles.
• Support RFI/RFP processes, including documentation, vendor engagement, and solution evaluation.
• Work closely with wider architecture and product teams to drive the infrastructure modernisation strategy and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect, with a strong focus on infrastructure and cloud.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS), including designing and delivering cloud migration strategies.
• Hands‑on experience migrating Active Directory domains, tenants, M365 environments, and enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture (compute, networking, storage, virtual and physical environments).
• Experience working within enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and governance models.
• Knowledge of identity technologies including Azure AD and Office 365.
• Ability to design solutions that balance performance, scalability, security, cost, and maintainability.
• Experience working in complex, enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and third‑party vendors.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience, with architecture‑related certifications or training (desirable).
• Exposure to wider cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), ITIL environments, and enterprise applications (ERP, Data & Analytics, AI).
