Royal Free Charity, the strategic partner to the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL), is seeking a creative and driven Philanthropy Manager to lead efforts to secure four- and five‑figure gifts and to ensure donors are stewarded with the best possible experience of the charity to encourage ongoing support. The Royal Free Charity works to raise funds for enhanced support for patients, vital support for staff, groundbreaking research and innovation, and cutting‑edge medical equipment. Through the services they provide and the programmes and equipment they fund, the charity aims to make a profound and immediate difference to patients’ experience of care at RFL.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Senior Philanthropy Manager and work with colleagues in the philanthropy and campaigns team.
- Deliver the best possible experience to some of the charity’s most committed donors through bespoke events, personalised communications, and recognition opportunities across the charity’s hospital sites.
- Lead and deliver a mid‑level giving retention and recruitment strategy for donors giving between £1,000 and £50,000, identifying potential opportunities for uplift in giving.
- Build relationships and increase income in a pivotal year as the charity prepares for a multi‑million‑pound campaign supporting a ground‑breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.
- Work as part of a supportive, ambitious, and high‑performing team, with significant scope for development.
Qualifications
- Experience in fundraising and donor development in the charity or culture sector, and in working with supporters, customers, clients, or the general public.
- Background in creating high‑quality written documents such as tailored letters, proposals, decks, or other materials.
- Demonstrated outstanding organisational skills, a positive can‑do attitude, and a passion for relationship‑building.
- Excellent customer service delivery and problem‑solving approach.
- Interest in the fundraising sector and a desire to learn and grow in this role.
