Working on behalf of a Local authority, Aatom Recruitment has two new opportunities for a Digital Tutor and an English/Functional Skills Tutor. Both roles are part time 9 to 12.5 hours per week, 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

Digital Tutor Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver resources for adult learners that meet curriculum and qualification standards, fostering a challenging and inspiring environment.
  • Prepare learners for formative and summative assessments, including Essential Digital Skills and Digital Functional Skills exams.
  • Track learner progress with accurate and timely reporting to support their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and fellow Digital teaching staff to enhance the learner experience.
  • Provide an ‘outstanding’ teaching experience through Individual Learning Plans, quality assurance practices, and feedback.
  • Support the Digital curriculum by offering advice and guidance to prospective learners as needed.

Digital Tutor Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience and industry knowledge of Essential Digital Skills and Functional Skills specifications.
  • Familiarity with the Gateway examination board (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience teaching adults on accredited courses.
  • Proven ability to engage diverse groups of learners, supporting their progression and achievement.
  • A teaching qualification at least at Level 3 (essential).

English/Functional Skills Tutor Responsibilities:

  • Design engaging and relevant resources to meet curriculum and qualification requirements, ensuring a supportive and challenging learning environment.
  • Prepare learners for assessments, including reading, writing, and speaking & listening exams, as part of their overall learning journey.
  • Track learner progress through timely and accurate reporting to ensure each learner achieves their goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other teaching staff to deliver a cohesive and supportive curriculum.
  • Implement Individual Learning Plans and contribute to quality assurance, ensuring an ‘outstanding’ teaching experience.
  • Support the English curriculum by providing advice and guidance to prospective learners as needed.

English/Functional Skills Tutor Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the Pearson examination board (desirable but not essential).
  • Proven experience teaching adults on accredited courses.
  • Ability to engage diverse groups of learners across mixed abilities, supporting their successful progression.
  • Level 3 or higher qualification in the relevant subject area.
  • A teaching qualification of at least Level 3 (Essential).
