Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Strategic Finance Manager on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

The Strategic Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leadership of the Housing and Planning finance team comprising capital and revenue setting and monitoring;
  • Delivery of the medium term financial plan;
  • Ensuring that the client’s annual accounts are published and audited in line with statutory deadlines;
  • Management and control of the client’s group accounts.

Supports the Director of Finance to drive change across the Finance Leadership Team to deliver change and respond to client’s commitments.

Deliver a new service offer to key stakeholders and measure feedback on a regular basis.

Active ambassador of the client’s Diversity and Inclusion ambitions.

Ensuring that the finance team is future proofed enabling team members to acquire new skills and experience while learning from others including a number of external staff that plan to roll-off during 2024.

Requirements:

  • Full member of CCAB, (preferably CIPFA), CFA, or ACT with significant post qualification experience.
  • Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Demonstrable track record in being able to inspire others to sustain high levels of service performance whilst creating an environment of tangible and continuous improvement.
  • Housing and HRA experience.
