Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Senior Building Control Engineer on a 3 months contract initially with a possibility of further extension.
Main accountabilities:
- Vetting of plans for a broad range of projects
- Carry out general site inspections
- Give general Building Control advice by phone, email and in person
- Inspect dangerous structures during normal working hours
- Join the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota
- Creating adequate and timely records of inspections and correspondence
- Assist in the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors
- Assisting the Principal Surveyor and the Head of Building Control of the team with sundry duties
Requirements:
- Have a degree in the construction field or equivalent qualification and preferably have a Band C BSR qualification
- Have a full corporate membership status of a recognised professional body like RICS, CABE, CIOB, etc.
- Have a minimum of five years’ experience in Building Control
- Be self-motivated to learn and work with little encouragement
- Be keen to learn and upskill their soft and technical skills
