Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Parks Projects Manager on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.
Main purpose of the role: To commission and deliver strategic projects for parks and open spaces that meet the client’s strategic and policy aims and objectives, specifically delivering the outcomes in the Open Space Strategy.
The role focuses on developing strategic solutions with greenspace services, in response to budget pressures, new legislation, best practice, local residents’ needs, transformation and service requirements.
Main accountabilities:
- Design, plan, develop, co-ordinate and manage a programme of complex Open Space projects that meet the client’s strategic and policy objectives.
- Develop robust business cases for investment in Parks and Open Spaces, carefully researching and analysing data to support options appraisals and evaluations, including keeping up to date with best practice for parks management.
- Work with management to support the development of strategies for the management of greenspace, keeping informed about policy changes, technological developments and statutory changes that could impact on the services.
- Implement excellent project governance to control project delivery, including managing cross-departmental project teams and multi-disciplinary consultants and contractors to deliver project outcomes and benefits.
