Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Head of Leasehold and Income Services on a 4-month contract initially with a possibility of further extension. Our client is looking for a leader with:

  • Extensive experience in managing a Local Authority Leasehold and Income Service with expert knowledge of social housing legislation, regulation, and finance.
  • Proven experience of working within complex services and political environments, collaborating with elected Members, senior managers, and partner organizations.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage effectively through excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A customer-focused mindset, ensuring services are designed and reviewed from the perspective of residents.
  • A demonstrated commitment to equality and diversity, showing personal leadership in promoting inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the client’s annual rental income and service charge setting, ensuring accuracy in calculations and clear communication with residents.
  • Drive income collection strategies, balancing a robust approach with empathy for individual circumstances, and supporting residents with benefits and debt management.
  • Oversee leaseholder consultation and engagement, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Manage the Leasehold and Income Services team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to social housing legislation, consumer standards, and financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with elected Members, senior managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify efficiencies, and provide performance updates to senior leadership.
