This isn’t your average graduate role; it’s a dynamic opportunity for a proactive, phone-confident graduate to dive into the exciting world of recruitment. The role has a heavy emphasis on marketing combined with direct engagement through phone calls, building relationships, and interviewing candidates to find the perfect match for our clients. This incredibly varied role blends the art of persuasion with the science of talent acquisition. You’ll spend time on the phone, engaging with both prospective clients and top-tier candidates, while also utilising the latest marketing tools to develop new business opportunities.

Your Role as a Graduate Recruitment Consultant:

  • Making "Warm Calls" - you will never make a "cold call". You’ll be reaching out to pre-qualified leads and existing contacts, building rapport, and understanding their recruitment needs.
  • Conducting in-depth phone and video interviews with candidates, assessing skills, experience, and cultural fit to present the best candidates to our clients.
  • Developing strong relationships with both clients and candidates, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the recruitment process.
  • Handling incoming calls, updating our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software with meticulous detail, and managing the full recruitment lifecycle.
  • Utilising your research skills to identify potential candidates and companies, along with some data crunching and input.
  • Working closely with experienced consultants, contributing to team success, and leveraging the latest recruitment tools.
  • You’ll assist with writing and creating content for job advertisements and candidate outreach, and help update our website and social media platforms using a Content Management System (CMS).

What is Needed as a Graduate Recruitment Consultant:

  • To thrive in this role, you’ll be a graduate, or of graduate calibre, with demonstrable sales or telesales experience. This could be from a part-time job, holiday work, or a "sandwich year" placement.
  • This role is ideal for a confident, articulate, and dynamic graduate from disciplines such as Marketing, English, History, Journalism, Business, PPE, or any field that has honed your research, analytical, and, crucially, your excellent verbal communication skills.
  • This is absolutely not a role for someone unwilling to pick up the phone and engage in meaningful conversations.
  • You’ll be intelligent, articulate, and engaging, possessing a natural ability to ask probing questions to truly understand the needs of both clients and candidates.
  • You’ll have the gravitas to earn the respect of everyone you interact with.
  • You’ll receive direct, one-on-one mentorship from a highly experienced consultant, with thorough and ongoing training. New consultants are encouraged to pursue formally recognised occupational psychology or recruitment qualifications.

Bonus Points For:

  • Demonstrable experience with phone-based sales or customer service.
  • Experience with CRM software.
  • A proven ability to quickly build rapport and trust.

Success in this role depends on your positive attitude, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Be prepared for a thorough recruitment process that includes personality questionnaires, ability testing, and skills assessments.
