Technical Business Development Manager | North of England | Home Based

£40,000 - £50,000 + Company Car + Bonus + Benefits | Do you enjoy selling technical solutions rather than products?

Are you the type of salesperson who enjoys getting out on site, understanding how a customer's business operates and developing the right solution rather than simply chasing the next order?

If so, this could be a fantastic opportunity to join a growing engineering business supplying technical solutions to some of the UK's leading manufacturing and industrial organisations.

We're looking for an experienced Technical Business Development Manager to develop project opportunities across the North of England, working with both existing customers and new prospects.

This is a consultative sales role where you'll work closely with Engineering Managers, Maintenance Managers and Operations teams, helping customers improve, modernise and future-proof their lifting equipment.

No two projects are the same.

One day you could be advising on a straightforward equipment upgrade, the next you'll be working alongside technical specialists on a complex refurbishment project worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Developing long-term relationships with manufacturing and industrial customers.
  • Identifying new project opportunities across your territory.
  • Visiting customer sites to understand operational requirements.
  • Working alongside internal technical specialists to develop tailored engineering solutions.
  • Presenting proposals and managing opportunities through to order.
  • Building and managing a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Producing accurate sales forecasts.

What we're looking for

Our client is very interested in finding an excellent consultative salesperson than someone with direct product knowledge.

If you've successfully sold technical products or engineering solutions into manufacturing or industrial businesses, we'd love to hear from you.

You may currently be selling

  • Industrial Automation
  • CNC Machinery
  • Capital Equipment
  • Materials Handling Equipment
  • Conveyors
  • Robotics
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Products
  • Hydraulics or Pneumatics
  • Industrial Machinery
  • Other Technical Engineering Solutions

Most importantly, you'll know how to build relationships, ask the right questions and manage a consultative sales process.

What's in it for you?

  • Company car
  • Home-based role with autonomy to manage your own diary
  • Full product and technical training
  • Long-term career progression within a growing business
  • Support from an experienced internal technical team
  • Opportunity to work with some of the UK's best-known manufacturing businesses

If you're looking for a role where you can combine your sales ability with genuine technical solution selling, we'd love to hear from you.
