We are recruiting for a well-established UK manufacturer of premium flooring products who are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to develop and grow their North East territory. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service within the flooring industry.
The role is a true mix of new business development and account management, although the key focus is very much on growing the territory and winning new customers.
The Role
- Covering the North East region, you will be responsible for:
- Developing new business opportunities across your territory
- Managing and growing an existing customer base
- Building relationships with flooring retailers, trade customers and commercial clients
- Conducting customer visits, presentations and product demonstrations
- Promoting premium products and confidently selling on value rather than price
- Identifying opportunities to increase sales and market share
- Managing your own diary and territory effectively
- Representing the business professionally within the marketplace
This is a field-based role where relationship building, resilience and strong communication skills are essential.
The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded sales professional who enjoys being customer-facing and developing long-term business relationships. You may currently be working within:
- Flooring
- Interiors
- Merchant sales
- Building products
- Construction products
- Kitchens & bathrooms
- Trade distribution
However, industry experience is less important than attitude, personality and sales ability.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong business development skills
- Experience within field sales
- Confidence presenting to customers face-to-face
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to overcome objections and sell premium products
- A target-driven mindset
- High levels of self-motivation and organisation

The Package
- £35,000 - £45,000 basic salary DOE
