Are you a driven field sales professional who loves winning new business, building relationships and being out on the road? Do you thrive in a role where you can genuinely influence customers rather than competing purely on price?

We are recruiting for a well-established UK manufacturer of premium flooring products who are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to develop and grow their North East territory. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service within the flooring industry.

The role is a true mix of new business development and account management, although the key focus is very much on growing the territory and winning new customers.

The Role

  • Covering the North East region, you will be responsible for:
  • Developing new business opportunities across your territory
  • Managing and growing an existing customer base
  • Building relationships with flooring retailers, trade customers and commercial clients
  • Conducting customer visits, presentations and product demonstrations
  • Promoting premium products and confidently selling on value rather than price
  • Identifying opportunities to increase sales and market share
  • Managing your own diary and territory effectively
  • Representing the business professionally within the marketplace

This is a field-based role where relationship building, resilience and strong communication skills are essential.

The Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded sales professional who enjoys being customer-facing and developing long-term business relationships. You may currently be working within:

  • Flooring
  • Interiors
  • Merchant sales
  • Building products
  • Construction products
  • Kitchens & bathrooms
  • Trade distribution

However, industry experience is less important than attitude, personality and sales ability.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong business development skills
  • Experience within field sales
  • Confidence presenting to customers face-to-face
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to overcome objections and sell premium products
  • A target-driven mindset
  • High levels of self-motivation and organisation
