Business Development Manager – IT Infrastructure | Β£60,000–£70,000 basic | Profit Share | Company Car | Excellent Pension | London & South East | Hybrid – approx. 1 day per week Crawley This isn't a traditional BDM role - and it isn't about chasing quick transactional wins. We're recruiting for an established specialist distributor within the IT infrastructure market, supplying fibre, structured cabling, connectivity and associated solutions into major projects across the UK.

They're looking for a commercially ambitious Business Development Manager who can take ownership of key relationships, understand where major projects are developing and position the business at the heart of those opportunities.

The Opportunity

You'll work across the full infrastructure supply chain - building relationships with manufacturers, distributors, installers, system integrators and end users .

You'll have the autonomy to:

  • Develop and grow strategic customer accounts
  • Identify major infrastructure projects at an early stage
  • Build strong relationships with key manufacturers and suppliers
  • Develop installer and system integrator partnerships
  • Understand the commercial landscape around each project
  • Own and manage a meaningful project pipeline
  • Work closely with internal sales to convert opportunities into profitable growth

This is relationship-led, intelligent business development. You'll need to understand who is involved in a project, who influences it, what is being specified and where the opportunity sits - not simply wait for an RFQ to arrive.

What We're Looking For

Sector knowledge matters.

You'll ideally come from structured cabling, fibre, network infrastructure, data centres, connectivity or a closely related technical market and understand how manufacturers, distributors, installers and end users work together.

You may currently be a:

  • Business Development Manager
  • Key / Strategic Account Manager
  • Technical Sales Manager
  • Commercial Manager

More important than the title is your ability to build trusted commercial relationships, manage complex project opportunities and take genuine ownership.

Some leadership or mentoring experience would be advantageous, but equally important is the potential and ambition to develop into a broader commercial leadership role in the future .

Why This Role Stands Out

There's a bigger opportunity here than the job title suggests.

The business wants someone who can establish themselves as a key commercial figure, earn the trust of customers, suppliers and colleagues and, for the right person, progress into a much broader senior leadership position over the coming years .

So, if you're commercially ambitious but have reached a ceiling where you are, this could offer a very interesting next step.

The Package

  • Profit share
  • Company car
  • Genuine long-term progression
