Are you an experienced business development professional with a background in IT infrastructure, structured cabling, electrical wholesale or technical distribution?Do you enjoy building long-term relationships, uncovering complex projects and working with installers, consultants and manufacturers rather than simply chasing transactional sales?
Our client is a market-leading distributor of fibre optic, copper cabling and IT infrastructure solutions, supplying some of the UK's largest data centre, commercial and infrastructure projects.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to develop strategic customer relationships across London and the South East.
The Role
This is a consultative, project-led sales role where you'll work closely with installers, system integrators, manufacturers and end users to identify opportunities early and position the business as the preferred supply partner.
Responsibilities include
- Developing existing key accounts and growing long-term customer relationships.
- Identifying and tracking major infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
- Working closely with leading manufacturers and suppliers to generate new opportunities.
- Building relationships with installers, consultants and key decision makers.
- Managing a healthy pipeline of project opportunities across multiple sectors including commercial offices, data centres and critical infrastructure.
- Collaborating with internal sales and technical teams to maximise project success.
About You
- You'll ideally have experience selling into one or more of the following markets:
- Structured cabling
- IT infrastructure
- Electrical wholesale
- Network connectivity
- Technical distribution
- Building technologies
You'll also have
- A proven track record in field sales or business development.
- Experience selling technical or project-based solutions.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
- The ability to influence multiple stakeholders throughout a project lifecycle.
- A consultative approach and commercial mindset.
